After the World

After the World is a series of novellas set in a post zombie-apocalypse universe.

Each novella is written by a different writer, with different characters but with an overall story running through them.

The first issue, Killable Hours, is set in Melbourne and tells the story of Terry and Janelle, junior associates at a Melbourne law firm. Stuck in a skyscraper filled with bloodthirsty lawyers, there's only one way out - down.

Killable Hours is written by Clay Blakehills. Specusphere wrote:

Blakehills’ novella reads like a movie. Gripping, fast-paced and utterly immersive, it’s a solid adventure from start to finish. Blakehills’ knowledge of the secret lives of lawyers adds an intriguing Grisham-like element to his tale, giving it extra bite (pun intended). The author is adept at his craft, writing clearly and effectively. As a Melbourne resident myself, I enjoyed the setting and props employed in Blakehills’ story. It speaks to Killable Hours’ quality that I, a reader who generally doesn’t much like the zombie subgenre, had an absolute blast reading Blakehills’ novella.

Issue two, Gravesend tells the story of Tamsyn, a young girl stuck in the English famous port city at the end of the world. Written by Adelaide's Jason Fischer, Gobbet wrote:

The first two installments of this series are great fun to read. As with the bulk of apocalyptic zombie fiction there’s (understandably) not a vast amount of innovation here, but both Blakehill and Fischer provide sufficiently original set-ups and characterisation to make these novellas compelling reading for the zombie afficianado.” Chuck McKenzie, OzHorrorScope

Continuing from now until the zombies stop moving, After the World will be here for a while.
