Gravesend ready to roll

We've had a really good response to the first volume of After the World, Killable Hours. The good folks at scaryminds.com gave it a rap (http://www.scaryminds.com/reviews/book41.php) and www.ozhorrorscope.blogspot.com has just given it a once over as well (http://ozhorrorscope.blogspot.com/2010/01/magazine-review-after-world.html) and by all other accounts it has been doing well.

I have had a lot of positive suggestions about future directions for the books too, which will no doubt be incorporated further down the line.

Which brings me to the next volume in the series, Gravesend, by Adelaide's Jason Fischer. Jason was the first author commissioned to write an After the World story when Black House initially called for submissions last year. Clay's novella had already been written and needed only minor amendments to fit it into the ATW universe, but Jason's is the first to really be seated firmly in the unfolding world drama we are building.

Jason blogs regularly at http://jasonfischer.livejournal.com/ and I heartily recommend his stuff. His story Undead Camels Ate Their Flesh is great and he is currently working on what will no doubt be a great novel. I'm just glad I got him for this book before he takes off big time. Here's a photo of what 4000 copies of a pulp novel look like:

These babies will be landing in newsagents around the country in early February so keep your eyes peeled.
